Panda update

It is the major change done by google against content spamming.

Triggers of panda:

o   Duplication of content – When there is copied content appearing in multiple sites.

o   Low quality content – Pages having spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.

o   Content spinning – Presenting the same topic for many times in different ways on same website.

o   Thin content – When there is no relevant description of the topic. If there is few sentences about the topic, there would be lack of depth in information.

Penguin update

 Update done by google for websites that engaged in link spamming.

Triggers of penguin:

o  Paid link - when you paid people, for adding your link in their websites.

o  Link exchange- If the links are purchased or exchanged by people.

o  Quality-less - When there is low-quality link building.

o  Hypertext exceeds the limit.

o  Comment spamming- Adding our links in other website’s comment box.

o  Wiki spamming- Editing and adding our links in the Wikipedia.

o  Link farming schemes- Boosting ranks by buying link from link farming sites.

o  Guest blogging- When someone publishes a blog post on third party blog or websites.

This update makes use of Digital Millennium Copyright Act(DMCA) of 1998 to avoid piracy issues in google platform.
